Our history
1978
Belmar Bellion Marine is a modest shipchandler based on the Quai Malbert in Brest's commercial port. Founded by the third generation of Groupe Bellion's management team, the company employs two people and supplies ships calling at the tip of Finistère.
1979
Belmar is approached by a French oil company for its shipchandler services. This encounter marked the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship with the Offshore and Marine industries. Over the years, the company's activities have diversified, and Belmar now works with players in the agri-food, defense and construction industries...
1999
Belmar relocates to increase its office and warehouse space. The company moved from its premises in Brest's commercial port to its new offices on nearby rue Jurien de la Gravière. Unbeknownst to the first and second generations of Groupe Bellion managers, Belmar had just transferred its activities to the same premises that once housed the foundry!
2014
Belmar transfers its operations to a brand-new building in the Kerscao area of Le Relecq Kerhuon. Situated close to Brest's commercial port, in an industrial zone easily accessible to road hauliers, and fifteen minutes from Brest-Bretagne international airport, the company benefits from an ideal location for rapid delivery of customer orders by air, land or sea.
2015
Belmar opens up to the aerospace sector with the creation of a dedicated sales department.
2016
BelQuest is created. Belmar's sister company is based in Houston (Texas, USA).
2017
Belmar wins an international aerospace contract with a well-known French rocket launch system operator.
BelQuest, our U.S. office
Since 2016, Belmar has been present in the United States through a sister company: BelQuest. Based in Houston (Texas), this U.S. branch offers unique services such as the manufacture of customized products for its customers, equipment reconditioning and API (American Petroleum Institute) certification.
